Inhale the future. Exhale the past.
"If you are looking for an amazing yoga teacher look no further than Bernice Chao! She inspires her students both on and off the mat. She will kick your ass in the most loving kind of way!!!" ~Travis Eliot, [RYT 500] Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Ultimate Yogi Creator, and Author of Holistic Yoga Flow.
I reside in Santa Monica and am [RYT 200] Yoga Alliance certified. I'm also certified through Hollistic Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga trained under Lauren Eckstrom and Travis Eliot. I'm also certified in Meditation, Massage Therapy, Holy Fire II Reiki Level 2 certified, and have taught yoga in US, India and Australia.
I was introduced to yoga as a child by my sister, but did not have a consistent practice. That was until a near fatal car accident that left my body constantly pained and reliant on pain killers. It was through lots of patience and yoga class that I was able to rehabilitate my body and feel free of pain.
As a result of my yoga practice I've completed several marathons. Then at the age of 26 I learned how to ride a bike and started competing in triathlons and completed multiple century rides raising over $10k for Multiple Sclerosis, then in 2015 I completed my first Ironman. I hope to share what I've learned in yoga and self care to others.
Date: Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 - 8:00pm at Fauve Yoga Club 1221 2nd St, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Come join me for my restorative yoga. In this one hour class we will work on the connective tissues that responds best to a slow, steady load which is why we hold the poses for longer. If you gently stretch connective tissue by holding a pose for a long time in this way, the body will respond by making it a little longer and stronger - which is exactly what you want. Remember, the principle of exercise is to stress the tissue so the body will respond by strengthening it.
